Christian A. Buschhoff (born 1974) has been working in the field of event technology for many years. As a planner, consultant and technical manager, he looks after events of all sizes at home and abroad. Since 1996, his entrepreneurial activity has enabled him to gain various experiences and to build up personal contacts. He played a major role in the design and implementation of technical guidelines for events, thus gaining a lot of important and useful experience in dealing with regulations in everyday practice. This knowledge was complemented by the founding of the specialist publishing house xEMP in 2005 and is reflected in publications such as the practical guide to the Ordinance on Places of Assembly and the Handbook on Flying Structures. This work is complemented by the founding of the working group on event safety, which started work in the winter of 2009/ 2010 with the IRG (Institute for Rescue Engineering and Hazard Prevention of the TH Cologne). Since then, the working group has been investigating the issue of visitor safety at events and has published its findings in German and English under the title “Die Sicherheit einer Veranstaltung Eine Kultur der Verantwortung”.
